Key Collection to my New Nest ^^

Hurray Hurray Hurray!!!

Thanks for all the good people that are in my life :D

I was still wondering when I will receive the letter for the Key Collection Dates when I browsed the Punggol.org forum yesterday. To my surprise, I was among the last few who had yet to receive any letter of notification for key collection~!!!

As usual, the Gan Cheong Spider side of me popped up and I immediately panicked and wondered if I was left out altogether by HDB (accidentally).

I was lucky to have met up with nice neighbours earlier on and also had chatted with many on the forum. So I SMSed this particular very helpful neighbour and he advised that I could check out my HDBpage.

And YES!!! The Key Collection Date was posted right there!!!

We are going to have our very own nest on 3 Jan 2011~!!!

I immediately plunged into looking at the lunar calendar for next year to find a good date and time to open the door. It needs not be on the same day as my Key Collection but definitely not too many days later since we still need to check for defects etc.

And my Mum was as excited as me. We exchanged quite a few calls to confirm on the Door Opening Day and Time. Felt really glad she would be helping me get the things ready and do the ritual too. I am really new in this and did not want to do the wrong things :P

Excited Laogong went to check out the new house after dropping me at work :D I wonder if he managed to peek into any neighbour's house that is under renovation now :P Waiting to hear more from him later :D

And Guess What? It's our 4th Year ROM Anniversary Today :D And Guess What he gave me??? A iPad~!!! I had longed for it like for months and YES~ My very sweet and generous Laogong decided to grant my wish so being obedient (to find a job) and understanding :P As I said so myself. After all, he had been busy at work, be it at home or at office. But of coz, I had to appreciate his understanding too for my busyness and not being able to be a full-pledged good mother who can be there for her little girl at all times.

Thanks Laogong for always making me feel important, appreciated, accepted and understood :D HAPPY ANNIVERSARY LAOGONG :D Thanks for the Very BIG Gift :D

And now I am saving up to buy a BIG gift for Laogong too :) Hope I save up enough (by spending less) soon :D

Shopping Dayout with Jamie on eve of new job start...

Sounds so sad right :P

I believe I will still have the chance to bring Jamie for shopping on weekdays :) But then I guess today is a special day. Because it marks the end of my Stay-at-Home-Mum or Work-from-Home-Mum Days...

From Tomorrow onwards, I will be a Working Mother...

I already know that I will definitely miss Jamie a lot at work tomorrow. I may even wish to call home at lunch time to 'talk' to Jamie. However, I am sure Jamie will be in good hands and will be well-take care of.

Hence I will keep reminding myself that I will work hard and bow low for the sake of Jamie. I want to buy her more pretty dresses and more toys. I want to give the best I can to Jamie. I want her to have a no-worries childhood. I want her to be a happy child. Jamie will be my motivation and aspiration to work hard and jiayou in my new job.

But of coz other than for the sake of my child, there are many other reasons for me to wish to work for my former boss again. And one thing for sure (at least for now), I want to retire in this job. It has always been my dream to find the right job so I can retire in it, just like my dad. He has been working 30+ yrs for the same company and he is retiring from the job soon. I wish I can be like my father....It's very tiring to keep finding the right job and the right boss...and the right colleague(s)...

So All the Way for this new job :D

Since I was worried that I may not have the time to bring Jamie for a shopping trip before the Lucius' BIG DAY, I brought Jamie to Kiddy Palace in TPY to choose her a pretty dress for her favourite korkor :D

See Jamie's pretty dress for Lucius Korkor's First Year BIRTHDAY~!!!

Other than that, since it is the last day of the GSS for Kiddy Palace Members, hence I also bought Jamie's supply of diapers and wet tissues.

Am really curious whether Pureen Diapers is good or not, and since it is selling at only $15.95 for 84pc (M size), hence I bought a packet to try. Won't mind changing to Pureen from Huggies if it's good. However, Huggies is still my favourite :P

Heehee, take a look at Jamie new loots...

Had been using Laogong's haversack as diaper bag since Jamie was born. So specially bought a new haversack for Jamie (and her caretakers - Me and Pyone) so Laogong can have his haversack back :D

OH YA.. Not forgetting the fun learning tool complimentary from Aunty Joey and Uncle Desmond I met up for tea time after our shopping!

Actually I had tried to avoid walking into any kiddy palace shop for sometime because I know I definitely will want to buy something for Jamie. But since financially we may not be able to sustain anymore if I continue to have no fixed pay, hence I had to force myself to stop buying things for Jamie. Now that I know I can have a fixed pay job, I thought it will be nice to buy Jamie something again to mark the start of Looking forward to buy more loots for Jamie soon ^^

Hahaha... What an excuse to shop for Jamie :P

Love you Jamie!!! Mummy Loves You SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH~!!! So Much till I only want to have one child so I can LOVE U AND YOU ONLY :D

Jamie has 2 teeth now~~~

Been some time since I last blogged. Was pretty busy with my sick Jamie... who ended up coughing and sneezing.

Took her a week to recover. And was so happy the recovery welcomes 2 new teeth too :D She now has her two bottom front teeth :D

Yea, she bites. So have to be careful these days...

Nowadays she is kinda of spoilt too, always insisted to have what she wants. But well, I guess I can't do much about it too if I need time to do my own things too. And yes, she has grown more independent now and can make do with just my helper these days.

I guess it will soon be time to go to full time working.

But I believe I will really miss her :( But I wonder if she will miss me as much too. Nowadays she is back to calling for 'Mama' and 'Baba' again. I wonder why do infants kept changing their habits. I guess she now know that calling my Laogong 'Baba' can get ilhim to turn around and response to her. And hence she really enjoys calling him that :) And I am happy to see Laogong more engaged with Jamie now too :)

Now uploading photos for the 2N2D trip we had in Genting/KL/JB. Quite amazing to visit so many places in such a short time right? I really enjoy the impromtu trips we had... And I feel more at ease on a roadtrip to Msia than on public transport... Coz I can sleep with ease and bring everything I want along too LOLz... I even brought a lot of pillows and my softoy dog with me too :D And yaa, I can sleep in peace when Laogong is driving too coz I have faith in his driving :D

Pity we couldnt find any baby clothes from the trip. But I compensated it by buying yesterday for Jamie instead ^^ Hahaha... Stay tune for my short trip journal in the next entry :D

Jamie has her first tooth~!!!

Was so worried when Jamie was suddenly down with a slight fever this afternoon. I was glad I decided to cancel my appointment and stayed home for her.

I gave her panadol and she finally get some sleep in the evening.

She had rejected her afternoon milk. And I didn't understand why. I decided to feed her from a spoon instead and she drank it.

Hmmm.. I wonder if it had anything to do with her teething then.

At night, she woke up and finished up her porridge as usual. Played a while before it was time to rest again. I gave her medicine in case her fever came back during the night.

Then out of curiosity, I rubbed my finger on her gum and felt... something SHARP..

OMG~!!! That's Jamie first tooth?!!

I got really excited and showed Jamie my teeth and told her she now has a tooth too. She started to chew her toy rabbit furiously as if in rejoice...

But then after a while, she got really uncomfy and cried.

I let her played awhile on my lap before patted her to sleep again.

Poor Jamie struggled on the bed for a while before she finally dozed off...

I really hope this is not the beginning of more teething discomfort :(

Nevertheless, I am proud that Jamie has her first tooth now :D

Jamie goes to the Zoo...

Guess I may end up blogging once a week, but then I will try my best to blog more regularly. Anyhow, I will still at least blog once a week.

It was a busy weekend for me.

On Saturday, we brought Jamie to the zoo. It was MOE family day so laogong managed to get $10/pax tickets to the zoo. He got 3 for ourselves and Pyone + 3 more for Yeewen, Yeepey and her bf...

It was a tiring but fun day for all of us :D And we were really lucky. It was drizzling when we reached the zoo and stopped when we started touring ard, and started to pour at 11am+. But we managed to hide at the elephant show sheltered area when it poured. So we had the free KFC lunch there as we watched the show. When the show ended, the rain stopped too. So Lucky right?

But hor, Jamie is still too young to appreciate the zoo and the animals. She was sleeping half the time too. I realized she likes to sleep when she is out on a warm day :P hahaha...

But I think she has her own fun that day coz it's a family day after all with Daddy and Mummy :D

Think will really like to bring her and my niece to the zoo after she learns how to walk :D Will be so cute to watch the two girls holding hands and looking at animals together :D Heehee...

And I can't wait to know which animal Jamie loves most!!!

Weekly Dates with Ivy

Really enjoy the weekly dates I am having with Ivy these days :D

It was always hard to catch up with each other due to our baby commitments. Now that our little ones are older, we can actually have more time for ourselves.

At this modern age, there are not that many Stay at Home Mummies already and hence it's a blessing that we have each other as a mini support group. I still remember the days when we spent together waiting for our partners to come back home from work. If not for her, I will be bored to death at home alone during pregnancy and before I started working. If not for her, I will have an emotional breakdown after feeling so burnt out with the baby, before my helper arrived. Thanks to her, I learnt about how to plan my wedding, how to plan my baby and how to apply for my helper. She has always been my 'mentor' in many ways. And she has always been so independent and helpful.

Now I wish to be there for her always :)

Looking forward to our next weekly date.

And many many more weekly dates together :D

Happy 6 months Jamie!!!

Anyone miss me? I think it's some time since I last blogged.

Had started working, lotsa homework to do everyday.

Hate cold calling but still got to do it. Ok la, it helps to build up my vocal confidence too ^^ And most importantly, learn to be more thick-skinned. I always think I have very thin skin coz I get very upset with others' comments sometimes. I guess in sales, we cannot take all comments too personally.

Sometimes I wonder if I ever be able to catch up with the many already successful sales-friends. I really wonder. I was never from the sales line. Customer Service yes, marketing yes but not sales. Kinda of tough to learn to read gestures, facial expressions and non-verbal communication...

But I always love challenges and I wish to try whatever job I had not tried before or never thought I will try.

Yaa.. Frankly, Sales was the last job I will want to do. Not that I am a shy person. I am from drama and I can be quite vocal if I want to. But then, I feel selling something to someone is like a big responsibility. Unless I am convinced that this product is good and value for money, I won't sell it to another person.

Yea, that's my attitude to my sales job and biz now. I want to make sure those products I put on Ministry of Babies and Jolene's Fashion Buffet is value for money before I sell to others. And I want to make sure the house I sell to others have no major problem before I can hand it over to the buyers...

I always enjoy adding value to others' lives. Sounds very noble? It was my motto in life. To add value in all my friends' and family members' lives. And now it's my motto and promise to all my clients.

I am treating my property work as a goodwill job. A job that helps others to find their dream homes or offices. A job that helps others buy properties with good investment values. A job that helps tenants to rent the right house and to help the landlords find the right landlords to take good care of the house.

Frankly, I don't understand why there are so many black sheeps in the industry. And how can they possibly sleep well at night after cheating their customers? Don't they feel guilty about it? Or they just feel it's the clients' fault for being so easily cheated by them? Because of these black sheeps, property agents have very bad name in the market. And it's harder to gain trust and faith from the clients nowadays. However, I believe as long as the other parties know that u are truly sincere in helping them solve their property issues/matters, they will still be willing to engage our services.

I truly hope not to disappoint my clients and my friend, Charleen who has so much faith and trust in me. I will work very hard!!!

Happy 6 months old Jamie :D Mummy will not disappoint you too :D U have been very understanding to mummy lately since mummy started working. U have been a good girl and mummy will work hard for u k? So mummy can buy many more pretty dresses and fun toys for u :D But don't worry too :) Mummy will still try to spend as much time with you as mummy can k? :D Love you so much, my little angel :D

Sometimes I feel so lousy as a mother who has to think so hard and so long before I decided to buy a toy or some clothes for Jamie. I really hope I will stop feeling so lousy soon...

Catch a glimpse of Jamie now that she is 6 months old :D

Jamie many first times day...

Heehee, 04 May 2010 was Jamie many first times day.

Not only she had her first bus ride, her first skytrain ride. She also had her first Teething rice husk and her first sip from the sipping cup! Kekeke.. It's so fun these days introducing new food and new ways of eating food to Jamie. And also exposing Jamie to more things too like the various types of transport other than cab and car. At the same time it was something new for my helper as well. She seemed to be amused by the extra long bus. And it seemed that in Myanmar, they can get up the bus from the back as well. Sounds interesting to me.

Frankly, I am looking forward to visit Myanmar with my helper one day :D

FINALLY decided on a stroller...

FINALLY decided on a stroller~!!!

Not a branded one like Maclaren, Combi or even Capella. However, looks good enough for basic use ^^ Was pondering over whether to buy an expensive stroller and those branded one seem to cost minimum $299... Phew... Can't bear to spend that money, though it's an essential item.

Was really luck to have know Melody. Was chatting with her about choosing a stroller and found out that she has an extra stroller. Read about the stroller and found it not bad, and decided to buy over it :) Wow... I paid a really reasonable and cost-efficient amount for this brand new stroller~!!!

I love it's colour too! Looks really cheeful and sporty :) Think will turn a few heads when I stroll Jamie along ECP next time ^^ Hahaha...

Let Jamie tried on this 'toy' I got from my brother. She seems to enjoy it coz she can now sit in the living room with us and not feel lonely sleeping in the bedroom herself! See how Happy she looks~

Had been doing 5 days of OJT and so far, I enjoyed myself and hope to continue to enjoy myself :)

Ohhh yaaa!!! My massage is finally starting on next Monday~!!! Tell you all more tomorrow about the massage ^^

2nd Last Bit of Shopping to Do~~~

Today's visiting from my mother was quite irritating. She came at a most 'weird' hours which caused us not being able to do much of anything in the day. But I was glad some more clearing could be done in the house, especially the living rooom.

But I had to be thankful for the items brought over by her, which are gifts from my da sao. I finally getting ALMOST ready... Now the bottle steam sterilizer is with me, with some bottles for drinking milk/water. More bra pads, 1 DOM and 1 Martel for my Confinement Food, 1 set of new baby clothes, face towels and baby socks~!!! I think I will get some more baby wipes too :)

Rachel will be passing me the Breast Pump tomorrow. Hurray!!! Oh yaa, did I mention, I ordered Medela PISA from USA and it costs only S$380 including shipment~~~ Compared to the S$799 in the retail shops in Singapore... And I will get a handsfree for the pump which will make it possible for me to pump and use my laptop at the same time. Hee, but it will mean I must find a way to use the Lappy in the bedroom so I can pump and chat :P hahaha...

I did my 2nd Last Bit of Shopping just now as well. Bought the standby milk powder, disposable diapers, Ru Yi You, Johnson Baby Shampoo and Baby Shower Gel, Safety Pins, Cotton Balls etc...

There is not much left to buy I think. Will need to take a look at my shopping list and see what else I need ^^ So Happy~!!! Will pack up the room abit more and then put the items to be used in the respective places...Yeahhh :)

Feel really good to have done so much~!!! And then I feel that I am less worried everyday about not being very ready... It's like I won't even mind if Baby comes in 2 weeks time ^^ But then after being so ready for the Baby, Maybe I can do some other things like packing my wardrobe ^^ And throwing or putting away clothes I don't wear anymore or seldom wear...

Closer to the date, I think I will start sterilizing all my bottles...

Hee... Okok, I am all very excited ^^ Update you all more tomorrow ^^

Shopping for Baby...and Eating for myself :P

Heehee, paiseh... I seem to have a lot of backlogged blogs to catch up with :P

Was pretty glad to have a breather and get out of the house on Tuesday.

Met Qiuling mainly to compensate her birthday treat (because I was warded on the original lunch date) and at the same time check out some baby items.

We really feasted on that day~!!! We had vegetarian dim sum buffet for lunch at 2.30pm at Novena Square, Lingzhi Vegetarian Restnt and North Indian Food for dinner at 7.30pm. Yummy... Took some photos but think I will post it together after I go for my 2nd shopping and eating trip with qiuling tomorrow.

I realised now that I am so blessed. Because I managed to get a lot of free hand-downs from my sister-in-law, my hubby's aunty, my hubby's cousin-in-law and my friend(s). And my da sao (sister-in-law) has been buying new items for me whenever she went shopping for my niece. I feel so blessed~!!! Imagine how much more I will need to fork out if I need to buy all those things myself~!!!

Hence, for mummies or mummies-to-be out there, do try to get free hand-downs if you can, unless you are particular with using 2nd hand items or you are financial capable of getting all new items for your baby(ies).

Frankly, I feel a bit bad that I can't get a lot of new items for my baby but then at the same time, I feel very blessed that I don't need to be too upset over it as well since I get a lot of free hand-downs...

Thanks everyone for loving me and my baby so much~!!!

And I have my lovely friends who said they will buy new clothes for my baby and some other who said will give me diapers and milk powder for the first month!!! I think it really helps!!!

Guess what, I only bought 2 nursing bras + 1 baby nail clip + 1 baby thermometer + 2 packet of diaper pins and I already spent $100+ on one day~!!!

Managed to find the pictures of some of the pigeon items I bought.

The other day at the taka baby fair, I bought 1 set of 3 beaniepillows + 1 baby bedsheet + 1 set of 3 pillow case + 1 baby sling and paid close to $200!!! I looked through the website of the shop and found this picture. I think I bought a combination package at a discounted price. I bought the new born comforter + newborn head pillow + 3mths and above body pillow and it costs me $75 in all. By the way, the lady said it's organic beanie...

After that I wrote down the shopping list necessary for my baby and realized there are so many things to buy BUT thankfully I managed to get many free hand-downs and yet the figure is already so terrifying...

I was lucky to have Rachel do the research and told me she can import Medela Pisa Breast Pump for only S$380 and if I get another handsfree strap from mumsfairy online shop for $37, it will cost me less than $450 for the whole set. If I had bought in the retail shop in Singapore, it will cost me a good $799 without the handsfree strap~!!!

I was told Medela was a good brand and spent some time to think it over whether I should get it because afterall, I may not have any breastmilk or too little breastmilk also. But then I guess after saving on the other big items like baby cot, playpen, steriliser and stroller, it will be fair of me to buy a good breast pump. And I pray hard I can fully utilise it...

See picture for the Medela PISA Breastpump that I ordered.

Currently, only pondering over whether to get a car seat for baby. But if we get one, will definitely be one that is portable so that it would not take up the seating space in the car. Since we are staying with my inlaws, we definitely need more car seats... But I heard the portable car seat can only used up to 1.5yrs old. Hmmm...

Does anyone know if it's by-law for baby to sit in car seat???

Okay, that's all for today. Qiuling said I can find cheap baby stuffs in Chinatown and she will bring me there tomorrow to have a peek. Hope I find some goodies there ^^

Will post more photos if I buy more baby items... ^^ And eat more good food :P

By the way, Jamie is 1.8kg at 32th week ^^ And I am having a healthy weight gain of less than 10kg. So far so good... Hehehe...
